I too have a spare Idealia cabinet and have had it for 30 years. Taking a Triumph mech and transforming into an Idealia is a very difficult feat. It was very difficult for the factory to build an Idealia then, that is why they are so rare today. Great pains were taken. And yes the bedplate is thicker than a normal Triumph bedplate. I've been involved with the hobby for 54 years and have never seen a spare Idealia mech separate from the cabinet.

Do you know what it is about it that makes it tricky to do?, If I fail to sell the cabinet I may still try to put a triumph in it, even just as a machine for doing some recordings on

Alex,

I would just hang onto the cabinet, but if you are unhappy with it as it is, I would then move it along, even if it meant giving it away when it doesn't sell. I agree with George's sage comments about the futility of making something new out of this cabinet.

Best,

Garret
