I just got back from a delightful three weeks in France. I always try to get to as many flea markets and "brocantes" as possible, but it's pretty rare that I find much of interest, or else affordable. This time I was pleasantly surprised to find two Bettini cylinder boxes, one standard and one Concert (or "Stentor" in French).
I've been wanting a Bettini Concert box to display with my Graphophone AD with Bettini attachment. This one is ideal. These are so much harder to find than the standard size boxes.
Both have original cylinders, or at least I have no reason to doubt they are original to their boxes. But, sadly, both are moldy beyond even the remotest hope of playing them. However the original title slip for the Concert is intact and in perfect condition, and the title matches the label on the box. I have inserted it into an archival sleeve for protection.
Definitely fun souvenirs to come home with!

These Bettini items are awesome, especially the Grand size cylinder, box, and slip. I have the standard size that has it's slip. There is no graphic, but it uses the same typeface as yours.

Very nice, Rene!
I just spent a week in Maine, and found very little. Brought home nothing phonographic.
It's always a treat to bring home a special "souvenir." Congratulations!

Rene,
Congratulations, glad you had a great trip and return home with some iconic rare items. To find boxes with the cylinders is amazing.......let alone that record slip. Great people deserve to still find great items in "the wild". It's an honor to call you a friend in all these years as a collector. Revel in your victory !!
Best,
D. Edwards
