Multiple Listening Tube Device Sold at Auction for $5750

Post by Phonofolks »

These items sold at auction yesterday for a total of $5750 plus buyers premium. The multiple listening tube device is pretty darn interesting and rare. The accessories also make it more interesting. Maybe someone from this forum won the lot.

Doesn't this belong in the "Ebay and Craigslist Alerts" section?

An very interesting lot. The listening tube rail is Graphophone, as is the extra gutta percha recorder in that wonderful box. The speaking tube is a nice extra, too, but the cylinders are the real sleepers. I see a couple of channel-rim examples; one with a paper ring title. No doubt there are some treasures there.

Wow. A time capsule, but why the later machine, I wonder? I suspect a Type N would've been the original.

I wonder if there's a recorder hidden next to that gutta percha reproducer...

That really is something cool, I wonder where it would have originally been used, sitting in a dealers shop or bar?
