I acquired this today, guy had it holding a record, is it a record holder?

I doubt it, as it says COLUMBIAN.

Columbian was also a stove brand. I used to have one, and it might have been a sign holder for the hardware store that sold the things. The lettering looks a lot like what was on that stove. But "Columbian" was a really popular name in the 1890's, that's for sure.

I thought it was a stove company although I couldn't figure what part this may be, sign holder kind of makes sense. Thanks

My first guess was a Columbian stove part and looking at my Majestic stove I think it holds a pierced piece of metal that you set a pot on to get it off the heating surface.

Nice Stove!

I'd love to have a house of my own--there would be one of those in the kitchen, most def!
