(Updated) estate sale lot of machines
I'm going to this estate sale that has a couple of machines, and 3 of them have my interest for sure, but I'm not sure what should be my max price, and im not looking to pay Ebay prices . It's an Edison home, an amberola 50, but I dont know what exact model of victor it is. The victor is at the top of my list, mostly because of its presentable aspects, and the amberola 50 might be to big for me. Considering it's an estate sale, the prices might be way too high anyways.

Re: Questions: estate sale lot of machines
I should add that I dont know if the machines work or not, and the crank seems to be missing on the Edison home.

Re: Questions: estate sale lot of machines
Hello,
Well I would go for the Victor II and the Edison Standard. The Edison Standard is an I.C.S machine ( International Correspondence School).
It also has an original 14" brass bell horn ( they sell for $100).
The Amberola 50 looks a little rough around the edges. I would wait for a nicer example unless it is dirt cheap.
Value these days has been fluctuating, mostly downward. I would think the Edison Standard is worth $250 to $350. The Vic II $800 to $1000.
The Amberola 50 $150 to $200 ( because of condition).

Re: Questions: estate sale lot of machines
I see another small machine to the left of the Standard so there might be some parts there as well. There can be some good parts to be found at estate sales. Let us know the outcome. Good luck!

Re: Questions: estate sale lot of machines
Thank you guys for the replies! There is one problem however, I'm in highschool, and this happens to he the one estate sale that starts on a Friday! One of my parents will be there and will be texting me the prices, and I'll tell them what to say to hopefully bring the price down as much as possible. there is also a box of around 100 amberol cylinders, so if all else fails, i could just get that.

Hopefully the sale is not far from where you live. The Victor II would be a nice deal if it is in good shape. If the Amberola 50 is not that expensive, it is a good deal since it has a double spring which is an advantage over the Amberola 30. The box of records would be a nice addition. Perhaps there are some good titles.

Re: Questions: estate sale lot of machines
I agree with the above advice. Go for the Victor. Is it possible the Victor is a late big case Victor 1? If that is true it doesn't change anything and go for it. The values are similar. A crank for the Standard is not a big deal. The Standard is a two minute only machine.

I actually found pictures of the tabletops that were on the side, and a few others.

There are some decent items there. SOme to mess with anyway if you can get them at a good price.
