Re: Edison Spring Motor phonograph.
It is always fun to hear of a good machine that comes out of the woodwork like the recent Circassian Walnut VV-XVIII or this Spring Motor. When a author of a post has questions and members take the time to post an answer it would be nice to hear the outcome of the machine in question. It's because we care and are curious of the outcome. This is just a friendly reminder to all of us.

Jerry,
I'm afraid it's an all-too common way of "communicating." Once some folks get the information they want - - sort of like a free vending machine - - they just walk away. I must say that this is most unusual for this particular OP. I'm sure he just forgot about this.
The APS receives hundreds of emails asking for information, and without exaggeration I'd estimate 95% of the replies APS sends back never get so much as a simple "thanks." There are, however, standout exceptions, and they're especially appreciated because of their rarity.
That said, it's definitely worth it to help. Bread on the waters...

Re: Edison Spring Motor phonograph.
What seems totally ridiculous to me, is that when someone posts about a machine that is available somewhere, but they can't make up their mind or decide against it... WHY NOT STATE WHERE IT IS AND THE PRICE, SO SOMEONE CAN SNAG IT???
