Re: Victor Type E (NEW ACQUISITION), What do you think?

I have a couple of original rear mount Victor E's each with early brass bell horn. Thank you for sharing your new acquisition with us. Victor E's provide a lot of listening pleasure in a small package.

The back bracket on this one has severe (ie. sharp?) edges on the horn elbow mount "ring" and the stenciling is a bit wonky which leads me to believe that the back bracket may be a reproduction. All of my rear mount Victors (including the Victor E's) have back brackets with nicely rounded edges on the horn elbow "ring" with carefully done stenciling. The horn elbow on this one looks a bit odd shaped versus original Victor rear mount elbows but it may the camera angle. Original Victor rear mount horn elbows generally have a very "forward sloping" profile (looking from the side view) and this elbow surges upward a bit and then out to the horn. Again it may be the angle I'm seeing.

All of this said, you've made a nice choice for listening pleasure with your new Victor E. Enjoy!

Doug
