Hiya folks,
Recently a poster on the Antique Phonograph Society Facebook page was inquiring of the proper knobs for his Long Playing Console model 2-C. I responded with elaborate assumptions as to what I thought was a correct answer, but as the thread progressed I began to realize that I was more than likely wrong with the assumptions and deductions I made from several photos I have saved on my PC.
In an attempt to decisively identify what the knobs were originally, I'd like for anyone with the following models ONLY and their corresponding serial numbers to please provide images and a description of the material they are produced from - WOOD or METAL:
Schubert
LP 1-C
LP 2-C
LP 3-C
LP 4-C
LU-37
LC-38
BC-34
Thank you all for your participation, I'll begin with my own applicable entries (I'm doubting the knobs on my 1-C to be original, as I had previously believed):
Schubert #3020 - WOOD
LP 1-C #1054 - WOOD

Things are a bit crazy today, but if it helps any, aside from slightly darker finish they look just like the ones you pictured above.fran604g wrote:Could you please provide an image?drh wrote:Schubert no. 2673, wood.

I have an LC-38, it has metal knobs, but it will be a few days before I can take photos.

My London Upright:
LU-37, Serial # SM-10367 (still has speed control knob)
Heavy nickel plated knob. I believe it's identical to those used on C-150s but I'm not sure.

Re: LATE Edison DD Phono knobs questionnaire
Note the difference in knobs between the early and later-production LU-37.
