Looks like a late 1930s to 1940s electric machine; correct me if I was wrong.

I Love Lucy episode "Little Ricky Gets Stage Fright". 1955. That's Howard McNear before Mayberry. Before getting a regular role as Floyd Howard McNear was one of those character actors you saw everywhere.
