Several people on the Facebook had asked for a video tour of my collection. I thought that I would post a link to the video here as well. This is my first attempt at a video tour. As you can probably tell from the video, my interest is in the early history of the phonograph. I have attempted to present my collection as it relates to the early history of the phonograph. I apologize for any inaccuracies in the narration, but it was an off the cuff attempt to show my collection as it relates to the history of the phonograph. Here is revised videos in 3 parts- I attempted to correct some errors in narration and improve the video quality.

Nice video, Mike...

Wonderful video. I did a search of Louis Devineau and found two links I thought were interesting. http://www.edisontinfoil.com/biophone.htm

Re: My collection - a video tour
The Biophone on Renè’s edisontinfoil site is the same one that is now in my collection. Renè does an amazing job in researching and describing his machines. His website www.edisontinfoil.com has been an invaluable resource for me in learning about some pretty rare machines. Both Renè’s website and the 78records.worldpress website do a great job telling the Deveneau story. It fills in a lot of the holes compared to my off the cuff telling of his story. “Devineau eventually endeared himself to some local politicians, and by 1908 he was serving as secretary of the Cleveland Sinking Fund Commission, which he apparently treated as his private treasury. In February 1909, a $12,840 shortage was discovered, with Devineau nowhere to be found. The papers reported that he had last been heard from in Belgium. A warrant was issued for his arrest on embezzlement charges, but nothing more was reported.”
