I’ve long thought that the only differences between the Columbia model A, and the model AT, are twofold:
1. A has a plain, unornamented case, which although it overlapped to the early ATs, it soon went away and became slightly more ornate.
2. AT has a spring barrel, but the A has an open spring, with otherwise identical motors.
But then this A appears, and it has a spring barrel:

Anybody know what’s correct?

Re: Differences between Columbia A and AT?
The A is single sprung, the AT double sprung. The phonograph on ebay is an old case style AT with the wrong A plate attached.

Teak is correct, unless the AT motor has been substituted for that of the A. Obviously, this machine has been completely re-done. The decal is incorrect for either the A or the early AT.
