No, seriously, you could probably tie it down with string and encase the governor side of the motor with a piece of heavy cardboard. You will have the brakes on, I hope, and the brake should keep it from moving.
With that long brake lever on the Edison motor, make sure that you keep the whole thing protected in cardboard and newspaper.
