American Crapophone Lamp

Post by datamath »

Hey guys!

Not long ago I was gifted a crap-o-phone. I found out it was such after searching for answers in this forum. After finding out I decided to keep it but to transform it into a lamp.

Here are the results!!

It makes me wonder... did any company did a product similar to this one back in the day? I know there was a phonograph that took its energy from a candle but I wonder whether this kind of "combos" ever existed.

Thanks

José

That's a good use for a Crap-O-Phone and you did a nice job. In reply to your question, "YES" several companies made phono/lamp combinations during the heyday... Here is a pic of my Fairy Phonograph Lamp from the 1920s...

My favorite of the lamp phonograph combos is the "modernola"
