Cortina Language Records, big stash

Post by Django »

I was cruising the Facebook Market Place and came across a nice young woman selling some cylinders. There was a picture of one. It was a Cortina Language Record, so I wrote to her for information. She did not offer any but said that I could have them for the cost of shipping, which turned out to be $21.30. I figured that the worst that could happen is that I pay $21.30 for a cylinder record tube or get nothing for my money, so I took the low risk. They arrived today and there are 26, Cortina cylinders in tubes with lids, 10. Cortina cylinders in tubes without lids and 24, Blue Amberols. The language records are French and English. No mold and look unplayed.

Until I saw these up close, I had no idea that the Cortina language records are celluloid U-S Everlasting records, made by the U-S Phonograph Company. I had always assumed they were wax!
