I have the opportunity to purchase an Edison Gem. I have an Amberola. My question:
Do both of these machines use the same blue amberola records (cylinders)?
What records does the gem play? The one I may purchase comes with no records. I was thinking maybe one plays a two minute and the other a four minute...but I really don't know.
Thanks for your help with this.

Re: Edison Gem and Amberola Records
The Edison gem plays 2 minute cylinders only. A combination attachment to play both types of cylinders does exist, but they are very uncommon.

Gem Model A, B, and C are two min machines. The Gem Model D is a 2/4 min machine that plays your blue cylinders. The rare Gem Model E is a four min machine only. Check to see what model it is.
