Victrola model?
Does anybody recognize this victrola model or has someone made this up? I don't recognize it.

Re: Victrola model?
That's a General Motors Radio 150A combination radio-phonograph cabinet with a Victrola mechanism shoehorned inside.
Pity, the 150 is a nice set when restored, and plays records very well. I have one in storage.

Re: Victrola model?
Thanks. The cabinet is lovely but I sure didn't recognize it as being a Victor model.

Re: Victrola model?
I have to admit, that's a strange creation. It's not uncommon to find cabinets that have had their internals upgraded 5-10 years after the cabinet was made, but this is the opposite case. The General Motors model 150 came out in 1930. The Victor phono installed inside this one is a decade older. Also, it might just be my monitor, but the reproducer doesn't look right and almost looks like it's soldered to the tone arm.

Re: Victrola model?
For a "Marriage", as we call such things in the UK, the machine looks very attractive and the conversion has been neatly done.
It would be interesting to see a picture of the horn, and a close up of the ID plate which presumably came from the donor Victrola.
I don't think the rubber back of the soundbox has been soldered. How would you solder rubber? It just looks badly perished, an easy fix.
