Just found this in a box of parts. Looks like a Columbia or Columbia client back bracket. Any thoughts on what this really is?

Thanks! Cliff

Hi Cliff

This is a Columbia back bracket, it is the exact match the the one I have on my model BN.

The appropriate reproducer for this tone arm is a Columbia Analyzing.

Best
Brad

The parts are definitely Columbia. I am not familiar with the studs that stick out vertically from the back bracket. Jerry Blais

Yes, Columbia. Of the style usually associated with machines that were updated from the front mount to the rear mount configuration.

You've got a Columbia BH back bracket there. I'm not familiar with the studs though, they may be a mod to prevent full horizontal rotation of the horn. Cheers, Russie

Agree with everyone, but does not have the usual patent information on the two half circle pieces to which those "studs" are attached. This would also not take the usual Columbia horn elbow; no way to fit it on.

Wouldn't the rim around the base of the Columbia horn elbow fit nicely under the two semi-circle rings? The studs will fit in any of the 6 screw holes that secures the rings to the bracket. Would they be used to limit the movement of the horn?

I too have never seen these semi circle brackets with studs on top. I agree that a regular Columbia style elbow should fit nicely under these brackets. I can't figure out what the studs might be for, especially with the screw heads on top?

Yep, it looks like the horn elbow could be accommodated, contrary to my previous post.
