What does Nipper’s voice sound like?

Post by Victrola-Monkey »

Is it a child’s voice or have a deep baritone sound? Maybe a south Philly accent? Has there been any records with his voice?

I ask because I bought a Nipper golf club cover, similar to the one on page 5-6 of the Nipper’s Collectibles Vol. 1 book. My gf modified it for me to allow his mouth to open and be a puppet since I’m more of a child than a golfer.

If there hasn’t been any recording of his voice, what should it sound like?

'when I was a child I had RCA story books. Nipper barked when it was time to turn the page. So I have heard Nipper's real voice. ;) I can confirm that is sounds like a barking dog.

That dog's song is better than 90% of the modern music I hear on the radio

Perhaps you should get a picture taken with you, puppet on hand, sitting in front of an open horn machine and call it "His Nipper's Voice"?

George,

The Voice Dog video by Timbu Fun was so great. Thanks so much for finding and posting it. Not sure if Nipper is as vocally talented as Walter though. I think Nipper’s natural skills involve at least his one ear.

DrH,

Regarding photos with my Nipper puppet, I’m a little camera shy but the puppet has been recruited to be my new video salesman for my extra Victrolas and Electrolas I will be selling.
