I rather like it- I suspect that the cabinet was converted to a display case (I've seen examples) and has been re-converted to an Edison.

A unique use for an otherwise trashed cabinet. The sides, top and front have been re-made with glass panels (reminiscent of an orchestrion), a mirror was placed in the cabinet below the motor and LED lighting installed. Personally, I like it and will now look for a potential donor cabinet to experiment with... Chrome or nickel plating the horn would be an idea... can't tell if it was done on this machine.

Very nice work! Would fit well in an amusement park, side by side to the whack-a-mole !

Evidently not for the purists, but it would be a great attention getter for people who do not know what a talking machine is.

I agree with the others so far--lots of fun, and even if the cabinet *wasn't* trashed to begin with, I can't imagine the world is that much poorer for the loss of one "authentic" Sheraton Sans Inlay out of the 10 billion or so that are out there. I just hope nobody gets the bright idea to give the same treatment to, say, a respectable Amberola I or higher end DD machine. Or comparable Victrola, for that matter.
