Are there different types/sizes of Exhibition reproducers?

Post by Thorhallur »

There's the Exhibition Junior. It's a seldomly seen long throat usually found on a Victor R. (I think ;) )

Doesn't the "O" have its own version as well, or am I mistaken?

The one for Victor O could be different... I have a little hmv hornless very similar to Victor O and zonophone cinch models, the one in my avatar and in this YouTube video, and the soundbox is an exhibition junior:

and it's not a long throat, but a short metallic throat protruding from the soundbox body, fitting directly on the tonearm, with no intermediate parts. It can be clearly seen from 0:50 on...

Another exhibition variant is the Gramola, which has a very slightly larger tonearm socket than other variants :

I have a early Victrola 4 (with the metal grate), missing the reproducer and was told ---it used a Victor Junior---not with the long throat. Talk about hard to find and the price doesn't make it any easier.

The metal grate victrola IV uses the same reproducer as on a victor O.

I was just about to chime in with a mention of the pot metal Exhibition "A" variant, and then I remembered there is a good discussion of different types of Exhibition reproducers here: http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =2&t=35266 .
