This seems like a good deal.

Hi

The 157 is a nice machine, I saw one when I was in Melbourne last and it has a nice sound and is fairly compact.

For the price, that’s definitely a nice machine.

And who knows; there might be something good (or rare) in the 78s, as well.

This is a model 157 Gramophone antique Master Voice player. In very good condition — plays nicely. Box of 78’s also available for additional $50. Cash only, pickup only. 706-285-2103

That's a pity it's not a 163 but at $190 it's a bargain anyway!

In the UK these machines are still about £3-350 so that's probably about $450-500.

Knowing that a Credenza in the States is not much more, I would definitely not go for the HMV 157 as the Credenza is a better machine BUT at $190 it's a steal so long as the 5a is okay and the grille / cloth are all intact and not damaged or replaced.
