Hi TMF folks,
I had an Edison Edisonic reproducer jump in the boat the other day. I am a fairly serious audio person so I decided to measure the Edisonic's tracking weight. It was 155 grams, that's over 5,000% of the tracking weight I use for most 78's, which is about 3 grams. I guess I always knew it was high but 155 grams is just remarkable. And at 155 grams, a clean Diamond Disc can sound terrific.
Happy tracking, Ken

A modern stylus can have very high psi values comparable to the Edison Diamond Disc phonograph.
