I was able to construct 2 of these nice affordable wonders out of 6 (3 each) Saunder closet organizer shelves I found at WalMart. By tipping the said units on their sides; screwing in the shelves as dividers and nailing them together as a stack of 3, you end up with a very sturdy, secure unit for storing records.

Re: Finally record shelves
The way that you did that looks to be an ideal height for records, also.
Are those 10" records?

Re: Finally record shelves
Well done! It's very helpful to have the natural segregation every foot and a half too. If you have a regular 2 or 3 feet long bookshelf there's always the problem of a whole shelf full of records falling over once you've pulled a dozen or so out. Annoying to say the least. I can tell you the way I've done it is much less optimal at this point

OB,
Looks nice. Doubling up the sides (now the shelf bottoms) will prolong the time until the particle board sags under the weight of the records.

Heh, heh...be careful. The more shelves you get, the more records you can justify dragging home with you! I can testify to that, but that's another story!
