Odd Edison small horn

Post by ts_13 »

I am not sure about this horn. I just have never seen a horn with these "tacks". Any idea?

They look like spot welds to me...

It is bizarre to me. I just have not seen one like it. Its old (looking). It is 13.5 long and 7 ⅜ across the bell.

Hi Taylor-- I've never seen the spot welds, but the bell seam where it attaches to the body looks like the early style reproductions-- I suspect it is a repro--

Hope all is well--

Repro Edison\Columbia Horns have been made as far back as the 1950's...and possibly even earlier...

It's repro, Probably a very early one at that...

I've never seen a "tacking" like that either...rather crude..but gets the job done I guess...

Enjoy your new find... It certainly is "unique"....to say the least..!

I believe that's the way the horns are made on the "modern" Edison phonograph looking thing that plays CD's and has an AM/FM radio. The phony top works being black plastic and non-functional.
