Can anyone here identify this?

Post by Andersun »

This part was in a bunch of phonograph stuff. Does anyone know what it is for. Speed control? Is it even phonograph related? It's about 7 inches long.
Thanks!
Steve

Looks like a speed control/shut off for an early Disc Graphophone.

I agree with George. From an early Columbia Disc Graphophone (or manufactured by Columbia).

Actually, I need one of these for an AH Disc Graphophone that is in line for restoration. How long is your piece? There was a shorter speed control that was used on little machines like the Standard Model X and the Harmony. Those are very easy to find. Unfortunately, I need one of the longer ones.If this si favailable for sale or trade, PM me, OM!

Folks, give me some time on these. I have to speak to the owner who might not want to sell them and it may take up to a week. He has 3 of these, two don't have the spring on them. I confirmed that they are the same as the one pictured by EdisonPhonographGuy and they are about 4.5 inches long.

Thanks,
Steve
