Had a rummage in a charity shop today and found some early labels including Favourite, Jumbo, Invicta, Neptune and Scala as well as these two. I assume the Pink one is Russian ? Any Idea what make or what the label says ? The other one is odd as it doesn't have any maker on it but it says "Recorded in England - Pressed in Prussia" - any ideas of Make ?

I think the pink one says "Sample Recording - Not For Sale In The State of New Jersey"...

The second label pictured can be found at the excellent http://www.early78s.uk under A for Anonymous. It is believed to be a pre-1914 Turmaphon made in Germany for the British market.

Interestingly, a tune from that opera was played in one of Edison's first Kinetophone experiments in the 1890s.
