I received an interesting request from a guy who is putting together a multimedia presentation for the family of Pat Kennedy (the vocalist on the record in question). He's trying to find a sample of this particular side. I don't have it, so I'm putting the word out to y'all.
Besides the Gennett issue, on #3300, it was issued on three British labels: on "Aco," "Coliseum" (as the "Mayfield Dance Orchestra") and "Guardsman" (as the "San Francisco Dance Orchestra"). That information comes from the Red Hot Jazz Archive.
Anyone have this? Thanks in advance on their behalf.
PS - now that I've looked at the info; Harry Reser (a.k.a. Barney Zeeman) recorded that song six times for various labels, and wherever a vocal is mentioned it's good old Tom Stacks. Wouldn't Tom have done the vocal for the Gennett version as well, and "Pat Kennedy" would just be a pseudonym?
