'The flapper wife'--Harry Reser's Syncopators (1925).

Post by Viva-Tonal »

One for the banjo fans! This band was usually known as the Cliquot Club Eskimos, but on Columbia 393-D they were called Harry Reser's Syncopators. Reser was a well-known banjoist, and he also has a solo on this side, an early electric recording made on 20 May 1925. Transferred at 77.6 rpm.

Good rendition, and what a treat to hear such pronounced banjo accompaniment on an electric record. However, my favorite will always be the Golden Gate Orchestra's Edison DD recording.
