I've never heard of him either, and can't find any info other that he was a conductor & composer, and partly wrote a song called "I'm Confessin' (That I Love You)" in 1930.
A biography came up in a search on some Broadway site, but gave no info except a price
I guess he didn't record very much, and possibly on some obsure label?

It was originally released on Victor V-40111, in their early country music catalogue series (the V-40000 series used between 1928 and c.1931).
'Ninety in the shade' is matrix BVE.49443-2.
The flip side is 'Alcoholic blues', matrix BVE.49445-1, from the same session.
