So Is Your Old Lady / Original Indiana Five

Post by Wolfe »

This name of this group should be familiar to anyone who has an interest in 1920's jazz.

They were quite active, recording many sides over a number of labels. Personnel shifted around too, it's hard for me to ascertain the lineup here, but I like the pianist. Recorded in 1926.

It is appropriate to note here that the Frog label has a CD entitled "Everybody Stomp," which features 26 recordings by the Original Indiana Five recorded between 1925 and 1929.

Very nice one, and it's not only the name that makes them so close to the Original Memphis Five.
