Edison record box
It's passed on me from an Australian collector. I want to know more about this version of Edison record. Thanks in advance!

They are the European Edison cylinders made in Brussels Belgium plant, and sold in the UK. I have a letter from the Belgium plant to Jonas Aylsworth, where they had to add more ceresin to the wax there to keep them from cracking due to colder weather.

Thanks, was there a conflict with Edison Bell? Why Belgium but not Germany or France? What made special to Belgium? London does show up right under his profile.

Colder weather than in the US? That seems strange. It's quite a bit warmer in the UK, Belgium and most of Europe than it is in the Northern tier US states.edisonphonoworks wrote:They are the European Edison cylinders made in Brussels Belgium plant, and sold in the UK.
