Maurice Chevalier ~ Valentine

Post by bart1927 »

Here's another record of mine. It is sung in French, but lucky for us, it starts with a short explanation by Mr. Chevalier himself, so we can understand what he's singing about.

Here's Maurice Chevalier with "Valentine", recorded March 15, 1929, issued on Victor 22093-B.

Thanks for posting this Bart. I quite like Maurice Chevalier's early records, even those in French.
I'd never heard this one before, although I've got a dance version of "Valentine" by the International Novelty Orchestra with a short vocal refrain that I've always enjoyed.
It's wonderful to finally hear it in a more original form.
