This records is almost 90 years old, and while it looks well played (graying, scratches, needle drops) it sounds loud and clear.
Arthur Fields sings his big hit from April 1919, "Bring Back Those Wonderful Days", issued on Victor 19555-A.
Even nostalgia ain't wat it used to be
Enjoy!

Re: Bring Back Those Wonderful Days ~ Arthur Fields
Thanks Bart. The nostalgia expressed in Bring back those wonderful days is typical of the 1919-1920 period. It seems that the advent of Prohibition coupled with an economic recession led to the recording of a number of nostalgic songs and references in songs to the good old days when prices were low and the booze flowed freely. Another example is Billy Murray's The Profiteering Blues.

Bart,
That's a great one-a beautiful transfer. I had to laugh reading Rocky's comment as Fields got to the last verse-the one about the beer.....
Thank you.
Regards,
John
