The Cylinder Preservation and Digitization site has just uploaded a series of thirteen cylinder recordings made during the 1890s. In a departure from the site's stated policy, these cylinders are not part of their own collection. They belong to a private collector.
I just discovered this "cylinder radio program" within the hour and want to share it. Original recordings from the 1890s are magical.

Actually, John Levin, who moderated the program and supplied the recordings is quite involved with their project.
OTOH, I wrote Mr Levin through the UCSB Digitalization Project a few months ago and have yet to receive a response.
