Chick-A-Dee / Kaplan's Melodists

Post by Wolfe »

(Dave) Kaplan's Melodists traverse this tuneful arrangement. I like especially the chimey interlude.

ca. 1922-23

Wolfe,

Thank you for sharing this transfer. I also think you prompted Paal to ask me about the cat seen in John’s video of it on YouTube:

I’d forgotten that Havoc made a brief appearance when we were recording that video.

Perhaps you (or someone else) can also answer a question that I hadn’t gotten around to asking anyone—was Edison’s ‘left’ side or ‘right’ side considered to be the ‘A’ side?

I have always assumed that the "R" side on Edison was the equivalent of the "A" side on other labels, while the "L" side was the equivalent of "B."
