The mention of The Charleston within other songs...

While The Charleston is kickin' about in it's scarcity and value.
I thought I'd start a thread about non-Charleston songs that simply give it a mention.

This first one turns out to be a three for one...

"Sunset Cafe Stomp" 1926, Louis Armstrong and His Hot Five (Okeh)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQaQLwb0I9E

Sunset stomp got folks jumpin’
Sunset stomp got folks
Jumpin' up and down, all around
They yell, band men play some more

Charleston, Charleston
I’ll say it's hot
But your Black Bottom, it’s got ‘em
But, oh, that Sunset Stomp

Lord, it’s going
To the peoples brains
Created in the crazy house
It sets good folks insane

Gentlemen, ladies too
Rush'en round n round
They loose their head
Some drop dead

Doin’ that Sunset Stomp
I said, doin' Sunset Stomp

-------------------------------

"Come On Baby" 1927, Harmony Dance Orchestra (Madison / Grey Gull)
This is in my collection and I could not find audio on the web.
There was a different, popular, song with the same name circulating at the same time.

Come on baby, hotsy-totsy baby,
come on steppin’ with me.

Dady’s gonna take you where they play the hottest music,
we’ll dance The Charleston ‘till we can not see.

Don’t forget to bring a pair of shoes that will last,
because we are going to shake our feet furious and fast.

Come on baby, hotsy-totsy baby,
come on steppin’ with me.

James.

"Katinka" 20100 on Victor. I forget how the verse goes but the Russian gal left when she heard about the Charleston and when nutsky... It's a silly novelty song that George Olsen did.

Then there is "Charleston Mad": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7WYBGpxs5E

I don't know of the lyrics, if these songs had any, but I know of "The Original Charleston Strut", "Charleston Hound" and "Brand New Charleston" .

After a quick Excel search I found a few in my collection I had forgotten about (some with good reason).

"Charlestonette" Perry's Rhythm Kings (Perry's Hot Dogs - Miff Mole and friends) on Apex from 1925
"Do that Charleston, Dinah" by Manhattan Musicians (which may or not be a pseudonym for Fletcher Henderson & Orchestra
"Chinky Charleston" by Jack Hills and his Orchestra from 1921 on Madison. Sorry but yes, it exists.
"Everybody's Doin' the Charleston Now" by Original Indiana Five from 1925 on Harmony
"Yiddisha (sic) Charleston" by Midnight Broadcasters on Variety which features the line "Henry Ford is learning how to Yiddishe Charleston now"; very tongue-in-cheek considering that Ford was a horrible anti-semite.
"Charleston Alley" by Charlie Barnet on rare Monogram from 1949 (?)

Some other titles listed under very vague pseudonyms:
"Charleston Always"
"Charleston your Blues Away"
"Charleston Lady"
