"New" records

Post by EdisonSquirrel »

I picked up some "new" records at the post office Friday and Monday; the records were from both Ebay and non-Ebay sources. I can't really share this with friends who aren't into the phono scene, so I'll post a list of my new treasures here.

Columbia #1050 (7")
"Could you be true to eyes of blue, if you looked into eyes of brown?"
Sung by J. W. Myers

Gennett #3122
"Brown eyes why are you blue?"
"The Co-ed"
both by the Happy Collegians (Nathan Glantz)

Brunswick #3432
"Where's that rainbow"
"A tree in the park"
both by Frank Black & his Orchestra

Brunswick #3951
"It was the dawn of love"
"Adoree"
both by Herbert Gordon's Hotel Adelphia Whispering Orchestra
Note: The Adelphia Hotel was converted to apartments some years ago; I lived in the Adelphia for ten years and thought it would be neat to have a record by the house dance band.

Harmony #116-H
"The roses brought me you"
"I never knew how wonderful you were"
both by the Harmony Brothers

Oxford #3360
"The buffalo rag"
by Vess L. Ossman

Silvertone #39716
"When you wore a tulip and & wore a big red rose"
by a male quartet

Victor #19745
"Yes sir! That's my baby" by Coon Sanders Nighthawks
"Sometime" by Jack Shilkret's Orchestra

Edison 2-minute cylinder #8673
"Navajo medley"
by the Edison Military Band

Columbia 2-minute cylinder #32688
"Dainty little ingenue"
by Harry Macdonough

Edison BA #1508
"Light as a feather"
by Charles Daab

I tried to add a record I had omitted, but the "edit" feature doesn't work. :?:

The Oxford Vess Ossman record is loud and clear. I'll have to upload it onto Youtube some time soon.
