Here's yet another 78 by one of my favourite recording artists, Billy Murray.

"Titina", on a Victor Batwing (19640-A), recorded April 3, 1925. I guess this must be one of the last acoustic recordings from Victor....

Nice transfer Bart and I like the extra touch of a picture of the sheet music cover. Interestig song to. The quality of the recording just goes to show how good acoustic recordings could sound.

I recall how surprised I was when I got my first copy of a recording of "Titina". I had always assumerd that this was an original number written by Charles Chaplin for "Modern Times", and then it turned out to be at least ten years older! I've also understood that it's originally a European number?

By the way: this is this the first time I've heard the entire lyrics - thanks for sharing!

I like this tune a lot and the interesting thing is that the International Novelty Orchestra version on 19586 has a different chorus which is closer to the European version of the song. There is a great klezmer band imitation in the last chorus too.
