Anything goes -UK vs USA

Post by richardh »

Here are two versions of the same song "Anything goes". First version is by top UK band Ambrose and his Orchestra and the second one of the top US bands, Paul Whiteman. But which is the better?

Hmm, tough descission. I've always really liked the plymouth rock opening for the vocals, so I think Whiteman's vocal chorus is great, but as far as the band itself goes- Ambrose wins hands down.

Yes, I feel the same Shane. Ramona does a fantastic job with the vocals and pushes the boundaries (for the time!) by talking about nudist parties, her being naked and adults having a "baby" fettish! Nne of these references appear in the Ambrose version...which is a shame :D

RJ,

Here's a third vote for indecision. ;) They both have their merits. Thank you for posting them both.

John
