Right on. I was very saddened to learn this today. I became a fan around 1978 or so, but in recent years hadn't followed his music.

He used to be on SNL many years ago. Not really my style of music, but saddened by the loss.

What I've heard is that his "illness" was dementia.
I saw him in concert in a mid-size theater a little more than 20 years ago, it was a lively show. On The Track is a classic.

I saw hime once in person also--very low key. Also picked up a 78rpm vinyl 10 inch 78 that he issued in 1978--Kinda Cool. MarkCharliePhono wrote:Right on. I was very saddened to learn this today. I became a fan around 1978 or so, but in recent years hadn't followed his music.

I enjoyed his quirky take on period tunes. A friend of mine toured with Redbone for a while and taught him some classic vaudeville routines, which they did between songs. He will be missed
