For anyone interested, I've just posted another video of my Edison Concert Phonograph playing one of my Edison Concert brown wax cylinders.
This one was composed in 1901 by Williams and Walker (Bert Williams and George Walker) and is entitled, "She's Gettin' More Like The White Folks Every Day". This is an original Edison Concert cylinder from my collection and is played on my Edison Concert Phonograph. The recording is sung by Dan W. Quinn in that same year (1901).
I've included the lyrics into the video as well as several related visuals.
Thanks,
Doug

That is an awesome recording that provides some rare cultural insight into the times.

Thanks for your kind comments, Andreas.
For those who may be wondering why I started playing the cylinder just after the announcement, the reason is that someone in the distant past unfortunately obliterated the announcement. There is a very heavy 'trench' cut into the area where the announcement was and I'm presuming it was done by someone accidentally lowering the carriage mounted recording assembly onto the spinning cylinder. UGH!! But at least they were conscientious enough to not ruin the rest of the cylinder which plays great!

Sounds great. I love the machine.
