I didn't care that much for the looks of the old Reloops. The new one with it's gold tinted platter isn't bad to look at at all.

Shucks, when I cast back to the mid-1990's (also pre-internet) when I was trying to buy my first good quality (new) 78 capable 'table. It was getting into the trough of the vinyl and turntable un-revival and there was not much to pick from at all.

Nice to see all these new offerings.

Wow. Its like you guys are speaking another language in this thread. I guess I didn't do my records any favors when I bought that cheap 80s turntable at Goodwill last week for $10?

I think most 80's turntables are probably okay for your records, provided you put a new cartridge and / or stylus on it.

Any decent turntable should have adjustable tracking force and anti-skate at least. Plus the ability to take standard mount cartridges. P-mount cartridges are harder to find nowdays.
