Whenever making either molds or discs, the molder can mix either too little material or too much. Since too little would cause an unusable mold or copy, a "little extra" is always factored in.
But what to do with that "little extra"? It's always a good idea to have something one would like to copy but may not otherwise be willing to spend the money for those materials on. This time that item happened to be the beautiful recording angel on the back of a late 7" etched label Berliner (French market).
After copying the entire back, I then cut out just the angel and made another mold of just the angel. Cast in a green or red resin, this will make a nice Christmas tree ornament. It would also work as a drink coaster.
