Emerson picture records

Post by phonogal »

These were listed and sold on Ebay recently. I have never seen any of these listed before. Anyone know anything about these?

Yes... They are picture overlays for the corresponding Emerson records. The overlays have a slot in them to play the record underneath, while the pictures stay stationary for viewing, instead of spinning around like other picture disks... These are hard to find, especially in this condition. Do you know what they sold for?

Yes, they sold for $75.00 each. I had saved them to my watch list because I thought they were really unusual and I have never seen them listed before. Thanks for the information.

Hi phonogal,

Can you post a link to the eBay listing please? I can't find it in completed listings.

Thanks,
Bob

That's quite something! Never seen anything like it... even in a later era. Did anyone else make something like this in the 40s/50s golden era of kiddie records?

There were only 3 records of this type released by Emerson. You can view better images on my web site:
childrenspicturerecords.com. Also there are lots of other children's picture records from various companies available for view. I started working on the site in November of '17. It has grown from 2 pages in January 3, '18 (when I had it first hosted) to 6 pages currently. I am adding companies/records as time permits.
