The Making of a New Diamond Disc

Post by donniej »

Some have asked, so here's a brief video on the making of a new Edison Diamond Disc; 52014 "Yes She Do" and "Hallelujah".
I'm currently working on possibly making the 12" Sample records as well (see the post in Yankee Trader).

Very interesting.
Please keep me in mind when you start selling them.
Cheers,

The sample record would also be nice, I would be interested in one.

Thanks for sharing that. It's really fascinating. There's a tremendous amount of work that goes into making these! Very impressive.

Wonderful success. Congratulations and best wishes for future success with the project.

Very interesting video indeed and good example to (hopefully) create a better understanding why double-sided disc molds are too intense for regular issues.

Enough orders are in for the contrsuction of the 12" mold, for Sample Disc #12, I'm always trying to improve the process, here's a sketch on the back of a leaf bag of the current design. With a couple hundred bucks worth of silicone going into it, this is a part that's good to plan out....
