Interesting Odd Label 78

Post by ColoradoPhonograf »

Recently a family member gave me some 78's they had come across. I was pleasantly surprised to find an 8" Victor of "Bill Bailey won't you please come home", and several 9" Zonophone records. And then there was this 12" one sided Star record. In 25 years I've never encountered this label before. It's in very nice condition too, which is a bonus. After looking in the Les Docks book it seems this is from about 1914.

With all respect to Les Docks, the Hawthorne & Sheble Manufacturing Company ceased activities in 1909. Your Star record dates from between 1907 and mid-1909. Congratulations - sounds like a nice group, including this Star. :)
