I found this record yesterday in a local antique store here on the Oregon coast and I could not believe how good the condition was and the productions are surprisingly great for 1924 acoustic recordings. I have always liked Marian Anderson but am more familiar with her later recordings. Here in this recording her voice is still youthful and very well captured. I hope some of you enjoy this as much as I do.

Re: 1924 Really good Marian Anderson record
This is a great disc, isn't it? She only made a handful of acoustics for Victor, as I'm sure you know. They don't turn up often. Of course, later she became a tremendous star and an influential civil rights activist. I've always enjoyed her records. A couple of years ago, a collector friend gave me several test pressings that were her personal copies, some of them unissued takes, this makes want to get them out later and give them a spin. Thanks for sharing!
