I can understand the appeal of the laughing record since laughter is contagious (and fun). But crying??? I hope it's not contagious.......

Very useful in wakes and funerals, sometimes these events get too cheerful when, after a couple of drinks, relatives that don't see each other in ages start to exchange memories, jokes, laughs etc. One of two plays of this record will inspire the proper mood ...

The original recording is a German Odeon, mx xBe 3975? I have it on a Spanish Odeon pressing.

MARGARETE WIEDEKE & MAX HEYE spk + VN — uy uy uy uy uy uy uy uy (Weinplatte — Nach einer Idee von Hirwey) — od 181019 ttco (448 25cm r?/? t04/t19) — Mx. xbe 3975 = 16 (fi) s i ii — Rec. 1923 12 08 berlin

Years ago I sent this and another laughing records from my collection to a colleague at 78-L. He published then all in a website:

http://www.oocities.org/bourbonstreet/4264/laughing.htm

together with my comments on them. It was in 1997 or so...
I'm so sorry... It was the old site Geocities, which is no more available. The links to the recordings there cannot be reproduced...

Did the two violin players play on the Crying Record as well as the second side duet? I have not seen anything that mentions who plays on the actual crying side.
