I'm pretty sure this is the best $25 I've spent in a while

Since I picked up my Columbia Grafonola and started keeping an eye out for records, I've found that Facebook Marketplace is a pretty good source. I've made about a half-dozen purchases there so far ... today's was the best. $25 for about 10 boxes that filled my trunk and back seat:

I got them home, sorted through them all (12-inchers in their own boxes, toss out the broken ones, the usual process), held a couple of dozen keepers off to the side for cleaning and proper sleeving (Arthur Crudup! Fats Waller!) and found not one, not two, but three of these bad boys:

I need to do some research into these, as I know nothing about the Edison discs (they're so damn thick! one of them is peeling a bit, but the other two are in nice shape, one in very nice shape), but had to share with those who will appreciate the thrill of the hunt. All in all, a pretty good day -- and well worth the hour-long drive each way to get them.

One of my greatest pleasures is finding a stash of records like that and taking them home to play...nice find!

Btw, did the hat come with the records? (Kinda reminds me of the one Ted Knight wore in Caddyshack.) ;)

Fun times.

Don't try to play the Edison records on your Grafonola.

Sir! There will be NO playing of the Edisons on the BUSHWOOD Grafonola!

Very nice find at a great price. Odds are there are some goodies in there

It gets addictive. This is how I went from 3000 to 15000 records in two years... if you're anywhere near Rochester NY and want a couple of thousand 78s let me know!
