Interesting development for copyright of older music

"Senate passes copyright bill to end 140-year protection for old songs". Still way to long for later 78s I think, but would improve things for early records. Still needs to pass the House though...

I sure hope that passes. I assume it would put the hurt into copyright trolls by sending things into public domain.

Isn't it peculiar how this "forthcoming" law is outdated already? It seems to me that the society is already miles ahead by comparison.
